His businesses were the Grand China restaurant in Silver Spring and the Good Earth restaurants in Falls Church and New Carrollton. He then owned and operated area restaurants until selling his three establishments and retiring in 1990. He worked for the Nationalist Chinese embassy from 1946 until 1960, when he retired as personal secretary to the ambassador. A former Falls Church resident, he lived in Monroe Township, N.J. In 1989, he founded and was the first president of the Riverdale Citizens Association. He was a charter member and former president and treasurer of the Riverdale Lions Club. He was a Riverdale town councilman from 1970 to 1975 and again from 1977 to 1979. Gerald Kay Livingston, 82, a Western Electric equipment installer in the Washington area from 1947 to 1983 who also had been active in civic affairs, died of heart ailments Oct. ![]() Survivors include a brother, Anthony Brienza of Dunedin, Fla. He was a member of Catholic War Veterans, the American Legion and the College Park Moose. After the war, he served 20 years in the Washington Air National Guard, retiring as a sergeant. During World War II, he served in the Army in Europe. Brienza, who lived in Mount Rainier, was born in Washington. Brienza, 92, an Interior Department lithographer who retired in 1966 after 36 years of federal service, died of respiratory failure Oct.
